About these terms

Score the Vote is a project of Super Citizen, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. These terms cover buying the book, using your account, donating, and using the tools on this site. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your information.

Buying the book

• Prices are in US dollars. You see the full price, including any discount, before you pay. That’s the price you pay.
• Right now every edition is 50% off its list price. If the launch price ends, the buy page will say so. Orders already placed keep the price they paid.
• You can use one discount code per order. Codes have no cash value and some expire.
• We charge your card when you place the order. That includes pre-orders.
• Every copy you buy comes with an access code. A code adds the ebook to whichever account redeems it, once. Keep one for yourself and give the rest away.
• If we list something at an obviously wrong price, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

Your ebook

The ebook is an EPUB file with no DRM. It works with Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Books and Kindle (through Send to Kindle). Once you redeem a code, you can download it from your account whenever you need it.

Buying or redeeming the ebook gives you a personal license to read it. Keep it on all your devices, back it up, and print pages for your own use. Please don’t post the file publicly, sell it, or pass it around in bulk. If you want someone to read it, send them a gift code.

Pre-orders

The paperback and the color hardcover are on pre-order and ship in early December 2026. Every printed copy includes the ebook, and you can download it the day you order.

• Cancel any time before your copy ships, for a full refund. Email hello@scorethevote.com from the address you ordered with.
• If we miss the ship date, we’ll email you with the new date and the option to cancel for a full refund.
• Canceling an order also cancels its access codes, including the ebook code. See Refunds.

Shipping

• Shipping is free, to US addresses only. We can’t ship printed copies outside the United States yet. The ebook works everywhere.
• Each copy is printed to order and shipped by our printing partner, Lulu. You can check where your order stands under Orders in your account.
• Damaged or misprinted copy? Email hello@scorethevote.com with your order email and a photo, and we’ll send a replacement at no cost.
• If your package doesn’t arrive, write to us and we’ll work it out with the printer.

Refunds and cancellations

The ebook

Full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. Email hello@scorethevote.com from the address you ordered with.

Printed copies

• Before your copy ships: cancel for a full refund (see Pre-orders).
• After it ships: damaged or misprinted copies are replaced at no cost (see Shipping).
• Because each copy is printed for your order, we can’t take back copies that arrive in good condition.

How refunds work

• We refund what you actually paid, to the card you paid with.
• Your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show it.
• When an order is refunded, the access codes from that order stop working, including any you gave away. We let gift recipients know.

Donations

• Donations go to Super Citizen, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. They are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows, and we don’t provide goods or services in return. We email you a receipt.
• Buying the book helps fund the work too, but a book purchase is a sale, not a donation, and isn’t tax-deductible.
• Monthly gifts are charged once a month until you stop them. To stop, email hello@scorethevote.com and there will be no further charges.
• Donations are generally non-refundable. If there was a mistake, like the wrong amount or a gift made twice, tell us within 30 days and we’ll refund it.

Your account

• We sign you in with a code sent to your email (or with Google, if you choose), so anyone who can read your email can get into your account. Keep your email secure.
• One account per person, please, with an email address you control.
• We may suspend accounts used to abuse the site, guess codes, or break these terms.
• To close your account, email hello@scorethevote.com. See the privacy policy for what we keep and why.

The pledge registry and share tools

The candidate pledge

• Sign the pledge only for yourself, or for a candidate who has asked you to. Give accurate information.
• We review every pledge before it appears in the registry. We may decline or remove an entry, for example if we can’t confirm the candidate or the candidate withdraws.
• A listing means the candidate signed the pledge. It isn’t an endorsement. Score the Vote is nonpartisan and never endorses or opposes candidates.

Sharing

• Share our pages, ballots and images as much as you like. That’s what they’re for.
• Don’t use them to spam or harass anyone, to impersonate anyone, or to suggest that a person, party or organization supports something it doesn’t.
• Don’t use our name or logo to suggest that we endorse you, your campaign or your cause.

The site itself

• Don’t try to break it, overload it, or guess access codes. If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@scorethevote.com.

Our words and images

The book and this site are protected by copyright. Link to anything. Quote short passages with credit (“Score the Vote, ch. 7”, for example). For anything bigger, like reprints, translations or course packs, ask us first at hello@scorethevote.com. We usually say yes.

The fine print

We work hard to get every fact right, and we cite our sources. Still, the site, the book and our tools are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim about the site, an order or a donation is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be waived.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. Changes never apply to orders you’ve already placed.
